Researchers Identify Myopia Gene

A group of scientists at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev have discovered the gene responsible for one of the most common issues corrected with laser eye surgery.

The group, led by Prof. Ohad Birk, identified the gene LEPREL1, which is shown to cause myopia (or nearsightedness) in patients.

An article detailing their findings appears online in the American Journal of Human Genetics.

London Eye Centre New Westminster Seminar

As we gear up for our busiest time of year, London Eye Centre is hosting additional educational seminars for potential patients.

Our seminars are ideal for folks interested in laser vision correction who are early in their research process. No worries, there won’t be any quizzes!

London Eye Centre Celebrates Thanksgiving

The staff here at London Eye Centre got into the spirit of the season this week with a sizable donation to St. Barnabus Church's soup kitchen.

The donation of approximately 30 lbs of canned food and dried goods will directly benefit those less fortunate in the New Westminster community.

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend!
